This meeting is open to all customer facing business in the area and will be presented by Padraig O’ Sullivan, Beacon Initiative Programme Manager and Elmer Kerr, an experienced retail professional. Retailers will be given the opportunity to hear first hand how the programme will benefit them and assist them in moving their business forward.

Following on from the public meeting, participating retailers will then attend an interactive group workshop with other local businesses. Each retailer will then work on an individual basis with Padraig, Elmer and their team and a strategic working document will be compiled and put into action. This document will cover areas such as negotiation skills, marketing and digital media, online presence, personnel, customer service and the sales process.

The Beacon Retail Programme has been successfully rolled out to 12 towns across Cork County and the Beacon team has worked with over 180 retail businesses in several different categories.

The programme is heavily subsidised by CORK COUNTY COUNCIL’S ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT FUND and will run over a 5-month period.  To ensure the programmes success, places are limited to just 15 businesses.
